Where you come in:

In this full-time, permanent position based ideally in Melbourne or Adelaide (though other locations will be considered), you'll focus on setting up people frameworks and processes, while also providing generalist People and Culture support across the growing organisation. Taking your inspiration from the best aspects of SCA's people and culture practices and working closely with the SCA People, Culture & Risk team, you'll introduce new initiatives, tailor existing processes and work closely with Inclusiv Education staff and management to respond to their needs. With flexibility to work from home or from our Melbourne or Adelaide offices*, you'll report to the Director Inclusiv Education, with a matrix report to SCA's Head of People and Culture - Corporate and Social Enterprises.
You will make an impact by:

  • Leveraging your knowledge of P&C best practice to design and deliver human resources processes and initiatives aligned to an Inclusiv Education People Plan
  • Supporting leaders in the management of the employee lifecycle, aligning to Save the Children Australia processes where required
  • Providing generalist P&C support and coaching to staff and middle managers, including on performance reviews, IR/ER matters, learning and development activities and end to end recruitment
  • Driving a positive, diverse company culture where staff are motivated to do their best work, including leading staff wellbeing initiatives
  • Leading operational activities such as risk management, coordination of shared services, regulatory compliance and continuous process and systems improvement

This role requires:

  • Significant demonstrated experience in a broad generalist HR role
  • Exceptional internal and external stakeholder engagement abilities, with highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and providing sound advice on performance issues, grievances and other ER issues
  • Experience coaching and building capability of people leaders
  • Experience in education, technology and/or international development settings will be highly regarded

* Note - The role will be required to attend either the Melbourne or Adelaide office once or twice a month at minimum for meetings. Subject to COVID-19 protocols, the role can be based regularly from the office if preferred.
