At its core, climate change is an issue of equity, both within the current generation and across generations. Climate change affects children and communities in poor and vulnerable communities now, and its impact will only grow over time - further affecting today's children and irrevocably altering the world that future generations will inherit. Climate change is also one of the principal development challenges of the twenty first century. Its impacts will be felt globally, ensuring that no one will be immune to its effects. We need you to help provide intensive technical support and strategic guidance for climate change across Save the Children Country Offices in the Pacific.
We're ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children's rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there's a disaster - like an earthquake, drought or conflict - we are there on the ground.
In this full-time, maximum-term position, based in Port Vila, Vanuatu you will work closely with the members of the Pacific Senior Management Team and Save the Children Australia's Climate Change Division to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality climate change programs aligned with country strategic plans and priorities. You will be part of our International Programs team and report to our Pacific Program Development & Quality Director.
You are able to work collaboratively with Pacific governments and other regional and in-country stakeholders to ensure program design and delivery aligns with government priorities, policies and standards, and complements existing programs and initiatives. You can work across our sector teams to ensure the risks of climate change and resilience building opportunities are integrated into all Save the Children programs in the region.
It's the feeling of knowing that your work is contributing to making the world a better place for children and working with others who feel the same. We offer a competitive salary including generous salary packaging benefits, a friendly and flexible work environment, and great career opportunities - both locally and internationally.
We'd love to hear from you. Submit your cover letter and resume by clicking on the 'Apply' section below.
