You're a passionate Agile practitioner excited about taking Save the Children, who is relatively new to agile, on the agile project management journey. You have demonstrable operational planning skills. Strategic, but still amply able to roll your sleeves up and lead a project through all stages. You thrive on developing collaborative relationships and are equally comfortable supporting a project team as you are working with senior executives. You're a leader with experience coaching partially allocated team members who have little agile experience.

Where you come in:

In this full-time permanent position, based in Carlton*, you will lead our cross-organisational agile portfolio operating process. You will play a key role within the organisation, responsible for driving portfolio planning, strengthening project governance, and building agile delivery capability. You will be part of our Strategy and Transformation team and report to our Head of Strategy and Business Consulting.

You will make an impact by:

  • Managing and coordinating the project portfolio operating process
  • Coaching project leads in Agile delivery including supporting set up of project planning and establishment of agile rituals
  • Supporting the development of light touch tools and resources to facilitate the early stage of agile adoption
  • Developing and implementing communications plans
  • Maintaining a good knowledge of current good practice in agile delivery and sharing knowledge through community of practice and other forums
  • Developing and maintaining strong and effective relationships to help improve the overall effectiveness of Save the Children Australia's project planning and work

  • Strong project management, planning, problem‑solving, multi‑tasking and priority determination skills
  • Proven experience in change management and high levels of personal resilience
  • Experience delivering with Agile methodologies in environments with shared resources and services
  • Demonstrated strategic and operational planning skills
  • Proven ability to inspire, engage, and coach colleagues

*While COVID-19 social distancing restrictions are in place, this role works remotely (i.e. from home or an alternative location). Once the pandemic restrictions are lifted, the role will be based in our office in Carlton.
