Critical inclusion: Building SA's prosperity through Gender Equality
The Project supports the attraction, retention and progression of women in the gender segregated workplaces critical to South Australia's industrial future. The Project develops and delivers targeted gender equality initiatives, underpinned by consultation, quantitative and qualitative research, tailored for targeted SA workplaces.
The initiatives include the development and delivery of tailored tools and resources, supported by educational sessions and training – designed to be scalable.
The Project was established in April 2025 and is scheduled to continue until 30 June 2028.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Project is transitioning out of its pilot phase and into expansion and delivery of the program’s education, cultural change activities, and resources, and is seeking a Project Officer - Facilitator to join the team.
The purpose of the Project Officer - Facilitator role is to support the delivery of project deliverables through ongoing research, testing and adaptation of resources, stakeholder engagement, training delivery, and partnership with unions and employers to roll out the Gender Equality Program in workplaces.
The position is fixed term and full-time 1.0FTE.
Under the direction of the Project Coordinator, the Project Officer – Facilitator will undertake the following duties as part of a multi-disciplinary team:
- Testing of training and resource materials within target industries,
- Facilitation of workshops and information sessions,
- Delivery of gender equality training programs,
- Organising and stakeholder relationship management,
- Ongoing research and industrial resource development,
- Contribute to social media and other communication activities,
- Data and information capture, analysis, evaluation and reporting,
- Promote and support an inclusive workplace culture which values diversity and embraces the principles of equal opportunity.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to support projects, work collaboratively to prioritise workloads, problem solve and meet deadlines.
- Experience with developing, analysing and/or applying industrial instruments (Awards and Enterprise Agreements), workplace policies and/or legislation.
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including the capacity to undertake public speaking and workshop facilitation.
- Demonstrated capacity for critical thinking and analysis.
- Proficiency in using the full range of Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Proficiency in Canva, Monday, Teams and SharePoint also an asset.
- The ability to work autonomously, to work without close supervision, and take initiative to achieve defined objectives. Trustworthiness, and a willingness to be accountable and transparent, when accessing workplace flexibilities such as working from home.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the requirements of confidentiality and flexibility within a professional work team.
- Demonstrated commitment to worker’s rights, trade unionism, social justice, and inclusion.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyse information to identify problems and develop appropriate solutions.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - DESIRABLE
It is desirable for candidates to satisfy one or more of the below:
- Demonstration of professional development relevant to the field of gender equity, gender equality, and/or work health and safety.
- Experience in an Industrial Officer role or legal expertise.
- Experience in industrial, workplace and/or community organising.
- Experience in education and training delivery.
- Understanding of the barriers facing women in gender segregated industries.
- Understanding of industry structures, work health and safety, and workplace rights.
- Participation in union, political and/or community campaigns.
SALARY AND CONDITIONS
This is a two year, grant funded position ending on 30 June 2028.
Fixed term full time employment is offered for an initial six months, with an additional eighteen-month engagement contingent on meeting project milestones and funding conditions.

- Classification UTLC 4.1 - $96,434.88 p.a.
- 13.5% Superannuation
- Flexible working arrangements and attractive leave entitlements including 12 rostered days off per year
- Christmas shutdown leave and 4 weeks annual leave
- Whilst the position is based in the Adelaide CBD, staff have access to remote working options
