Program Coordinator

  • Part time role (max 30.4 hours per week across Tuesday to Friday)

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) WA has an exciting NEW opportunity for an experienced Programs Coordinator to oversee RSPCA WA’s Pets in Crisis (PIC) and Pet Sterilisation Program (PSP) including program development, implementation and daily oversight of activities.

The overall goal of this position is to facilitate the effective oversight of programs according to RSPCA WA standards. This will be done by building and maintaining partnerships and relationships with other organisations, such as Family and Domestic Violence centres and support organisations, state and local government agencies, community organisations and veterinary practices, in order to expand the programs, secure funding and educate the public about the work of RSPCA WA.

Key responsibilities

  • Promotion and growth of the programs, including analysing and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Relationship development with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reporting and compliance to agreements and relevant policies, procedures and legislation.
  • Budget oversight.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Previous experience (1-3 years) in a program development role.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement program strategies, develop grant proposals and review mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work systematically and effectively, managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a flexible and positive attitude.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills (verbal, written, phone and in person) and demonstrated ability to build relationships with various individuals and organisations.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to use initiative and solve problems logically.
  • High level of maturity, incorporating resilience, compassion and empathy.
  • A good level of comfort in interacting with animals.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, sound research, and analytical skills.

Desirable

  • An understanding of family and domestic violence issues in WA.
  • An understanding of animal welfare issues in WA.
