About the role 

Your role will be to lead and develop our major giving activities and work with the Head of Development to develop a new strategic approach to philanthropy for our organisation as we undergo a transformational approach to invest and broaden our fundraising capacity. You will engage with our significant donors and match their passions and generosity for real change in making animal welfare better in our community.

About the opportunity 

The Major Giving Manager has overall responsibility for implementing and managing an effective Major Gift fundraising program across high net worth individuals and institutional philanthropy to achieve RSPCA Victoria’s vision and purpose.

This will include developing, implementing and managing the RSPCA’s Major Gift fundraising program through all aspects of the supporter journey:

  • Promotion and Acquisition: Promoting major giving by initiating and responding to philanthropic support for the RSPCA;
  • Cultivation and Conversion: Inspiring existing supporters to support our immediate needs in major giving; and
  • Stewardship and Retention: Actively managing relationships with major supporters and institutions who already support our work.

About you 

The right candidate has five years fundraising experience with proven success in relationship fundraising and a passion for high value philanthropy and institutional giving. With outstanding communications skills and exceptional time management, you and your team effectively manage donor expectations and provide a superior donor experience.

Your sound knowledge of the FIA code of conduct, practices and philosophy ensures you adhere to the necessary rigor required for quality donor database record upkeep and administration.

Importantly, your professional maturity allows you to know when to ‘make the ask’ to help deliver on our organisations vision to end cruelty to animals.
