Do you want to play an active role in supporting people with disabilities to live their best lives? Do you want to support a male client to live independently in his own home? We are seeking a passionate part-time Disability Support Worker for our client who lives in the inner west of Sydney.

You are ethical, self-motivated, and committed to making a difference for people with disabilities. You are focused on empowering clients with choice and control. You have exceptional customer service, problem-solving skills, and advocacy skills.

Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre has over 40 years of experience in working with our stakeholders to create opportunities for people to be themselves in the community. We operate a range of support services for people with disabilities on an individual basis as well as for group activities.

You will have:

  • Demonstrated skills with implementing behaviour support strategies
  • Willingness to work intensively on a 2:1 and1-1 basis with a client with a disability
  • Experience in implementing behaviour support strategies
  • Previous experience of working with people with autism and an intellectual disability
  • Understanding of self-injurious behaviours including managing complex personal care needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of WH&S principles
  • A full drivers license
  • Willingness to undertake a National Police Criminal Record check
  • A current Working with Children check
  • A current First Aid and/or CPR certificate or willingness to undertake

The Position is for 20.5 hours per week and includes 2 sleep shifts. Overtime available across the organisation.
