Richmond Fellowship Queensland (RFQ) is seeking a professional and motivated person to be part of its Townsville team.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Your next position could be to work out of the recovery model of practice with people referred by the Townsville University Hospital's Mental Health Services Group to assist in establishing and maintaining suitable accommodation in the community post discharge. You will assist clients to achieve their identified goals and aspirations, provide support with day to day tasks and activities and develop professional working relationships with stakeholders to achieve best possible outcomes for clients.

Working as part of a wider team, you will have your own client caseload and will be provided with on the job supervision on an ongoing basis.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

  • Degree or Diploma or Certificate in a human service related field and/or demonstrated previous experience working with people with mental illness
  • Ability to work autonomously and professionally within RFQ's service philosophy and values
  • A strong sense of professional boundaries and integrity
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a registered roadworthy and insured vehicle (minimum third-party property)
  • Undergo criminal history screening and obtain and maintain a valid NDIS worker screening clearance pursuant to the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld)
  • Willingness and ability to undertake vaccination of preventable diseases (this is not inclusive of the COVID-19 vaccine)

  • Experience in working with people with a mental illness
  • An understanding of the Townsville housing sector
  • Be compassionate, ethical and objective
  • Ability to communicate meaningfully with clinicians, clients and community stakeholders
  • Develop genuine and open relationships
  • Have advanced abilities to use internet based technologies
