As a Recovery Support Worker, you'll partner with individuals to build confidence, reconnect with what matters most to them, and draw on their strengths and resilience to create a meaningful life in the community.

Working from a strengths-based, recovery-oriented approach, you'll support people to navigate the transition back into everyday life, strengthen personal and community connections, and access opportunities that enhance wellbeing, independence, and inclusion. Through genuine relationships and collaborative practice, you'll help people identify their goals, build on their capabilities, and create a hopeful, self-directed pathway forward.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support people transitioning from hospital back into community life
  • Build positive relationships that promote confidence, wellbeing, and independence
  • Assist individuals to identify goals and take steps towards achieving them
  • Support community participation and connection with services and natural supports
  • Engage with families, health professionals, and community stakeholders to support positive outcomes
  • Deliver person-centred support that reflects individual needs and aspirations
  • Maintain accurate records using digital systems and mobile technologies
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development

About You!

You are passionate about supporting people on their recovery journey and believe in the power of strengths-based, person-centred practice. You bring:

  • A degree in a human services related field with at least one year of relevant experience, or less formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting people living with mental ill health
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, health professionals, justice services, and community stakeholders
  • Knowledge of recovery-oriented practice and community reintegration supports
  • A strengths-focused mindset and a genuine commitment to empowering people to achieve their goals
  • Strong communication, documentation, and solution-focused problem-solving skills
  • Cultural responsiveness and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Adaptability, resilience, and optimism when supporting people through change and transition
  • A strong sense of professional boundaries, integrity, and accountability
  • Confidence using digital systems and mobile technologies
