RFDS are excited to now be accepting applications for a Payroll Officer to join our friendly, dedicated and passionate payroll team.

The payroll officer is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient payroll processing and systems administration. It requires a high level of initiative in managing workload, responding to requests and adapting to a changing environment.

The Payroll Officer reports directly to the Payroll Manager within the People and Culture department.

This role will suit a results driven, team orientated professional with the following skills, experience and attributes:

Key Selection Criteria

  • Competence and experience in the use of payroll packages, preferably Technology One payroll software, Excel (pivot tables and v look ups) EmpLive time and attendance software and other IT programs would be desirable
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
  • High volume payroll experience (approx. 500 staff)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant Industrial Acts, Superannuation Guarantee Legislation, Awards and Agreements
  • Highly effective time management skills including the ability to plan, organise, multi task and work under pressure in a high volume work environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide high level reports and present findings to inform decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a collaborative manner across numerous business units
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, motivate, consult and negotiate, while building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, dedication and an open mind
