The Financial Services Manager will manage appropriate financial, procurement / contract management, information systems and management requirements in Respect Victoria, to enable it to deliver on its ambitious agenda.

Using your business partnering experience and leading a small team, this role oversees the budget develop and monitoring, performance reporting, identifies and delivers Finance and Information services/management improvements, assist the organisation to build capacity, provides financial and systems advice, maintains the general ledger and financial delegations of the organisation, and delivers high-quality, timely strategic advice to stakeholders including senior leaders and Board.  

Are you:

  • A Financial leader experienced in the establishment, implementation and management of finance and information functions within a young organisation
  • An analytical thinker, comfortable dealing conceptually with uncertainty and complexity
  • An experienced and skilled in financial management, systems and information management, including the establishment of financial and procurement policies, information systems, and processes
  • A skilled communicator across a range of complex issues and able to translate Finance and Information Technology and Systems concepts for a diverse audience in an organised and logical manner?

You will:

  • Provide executives and managers with high level advice, coaching and information and solutions related to financial, budgetary, procurement and information services.
  • Develop, implement and maintain effective financial, budgetary and procurement business systems, internal policies and procedures that support delivery of best-practice, contemporary financial management and services.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual budget cycle for Respect Victoria, linking budget strategy/planning with business, strategic and procurement plans.
  • Set and achieve key performance financial and budgetary indicators and standards.
  • Build organisational capability in relation to procurement and contract management.
  • Ensure the organisation maintains strong information systems.
  • Manage a small business team delivering internal finance, procurement, systems and information management services.

Respect Victoria

Was established as a Statutory Authority under the Prevention of Family Violence Act 2018 in October 2018. Respect Victoria. Respect Victoria will deliver on the commitments legislated in the Act and the objectives outlined in Free from Violence: Victoria’s strategy to prevent family violence and all forms of violence against women. Respect Victoria is focused on the prevention of all forms of family violence for all Victorians.

Reporting to the General Manager Operations, the role will manage, coordinate and deliver the full procurement-to-pay cycle for Respect Victoria including identifying market sourcing opportunities, providing commercial advice and contract management through to payment of suppliers. You will ensure a robust technology environment, information management and records systems are maintained and enhanced. 

You will have:

  • Extensive financial business partnering and coaching experience
  • Experienced in creating or enhancing internal finance, procurement and information management services;
  • Good project management skills clearly articulating objectives and regularly communicates with and supports project team members
  • Strong influence and negotiation skills
  • Initiative and accountability: proactive and self-starting; seizes opportunities and acts upon them and
  •  Professional business qualification such as CPA or comparable is highly desirable.
