Resource Work Cooperative is a national leader in the waste minimisation industry. We operate the South Hobart Tip Shop and work with communities, businesses and local government to achieve viable, sustainable, best-practice waste minimisation, with a focus on re-use.

As a Scrutineer you work with a daily crew alternating between roles that include, accepting and rejecting donations, driving and salvaging from the landfill, operating POS including cash handling, and pricing and restocking items.
The role involves being on your feet all day and moving between different areas of the shop, this a public facing customer service role. There is a need to be able to work under pressure and maintain pace while prioritise shifting tasks, we can have days that see over 300 customers through our site. We pride ourself on warm and friendly interactions with our diverse customer base who are also our community and we are their biggest fans.
Being apart of a worker owned cooperative you will have a say in how the business operates and are involved in all decision making processes.
This is a Casual Role and ideal candidates will be available 3 or more days per week.
The most exciting aspect of being a member of a worker’s cooperative is that you are able to contribute ideas and be part of the decision-making process regarding new projects and initiatives, and the current and future direction of the Co-op.
