Reconciliation Australia

We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates to apply.

our organisation

Reconciliation Australia is an independent, national, not-for-profit organisation promoting and facilitating reconciliation by building relationships, respect and trust between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our vision is for a just, equitable and reconciled Australia and our purpose is to inspire all and enable all Australians to contribute to the reconciliation of the nation.

the role

The Manager, Learning and Development plays a key role in growing the impact of the Narragunnawali*: Reconciliation in Education program. The program provides tools and resources for schools and early learning services to actively contribute to the reconciliation movement by enabling them to develop a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), and access professional learning and curriculum resources to support the implementation of reconciliation initiatives.

This role focuses on building teachers', educators', and sector partners' knowledge, confidence and capacity to support reconciliation across education settings. This role is responsible for delivering business-critical projects including high quality online and in-person workshops and events to foster deep and sustained program engagement that contributes to the program's financial resilience. Working in partnership with the Narragunnawali General Manager and Senior Manager, and the RAP Community branch of Narragunnawali, this role proactively contributes to the program's strategic direction and supports the team to deliver priorities and outcomes to a consistently high standard.

about you

You are a strategic thinker, with a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community aspirations, and of the Education sector's professional standards and curriculum requirements to use education to act towards reconciliation. You have demonstrated experience in designing, developing and facilitating high quality professional learning experiences, ideally with an attention to adult learning needs relating to reconciliation, and to revenue raising opportunities through targeted professional learning offerings.

You are self-motivated and a strong communicator and collaborator. You are a skilled project and people leader, with competency in managing multiple priorities, balancing outputs-based and relationship-building priorities. Most importantly, you are committed to supporting lifelong reconciliation learning across the education sector by building knowledge, confidence and capability among educators, leaders and broader education communities.
