The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Foundation is the fundraising arm of the RCH, one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals. The RCH Foundation has the vital role of raising, investing and distributing donated funds to the hospital. As part of this, the RCH Foundation supports a vast network of donors and fundraisers.

The role of the Philanthropy Coordinator is an integral part of the Individual Giving Team, responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with mid-tier and major donors to the RCH. It is responsible for providing the highest levels of donor care to new and existing supporters with the aim of contributing to increases in the number of active supporters, income raised and minimising donor attrition.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Previous experience working in a donor relations role in the university, health or not-for-profit sectors
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and demonstrated success in dealing with donors and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience communicating to a range of audiences
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality and judgment in escalating issues to management
  • Excellent attention to detail, working under own initiative to strict deadlines, and managing accounts and projects simultaneously
  • High level computer literacy and proficiency with fundraising programs and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Donor-centric
  • Commitment to the RCH Foundation’s values and a working style that reflects these

Desirable

  • Experience working in Salesforce database
  • Organisational awareness and stakeholder management experience
