About the Role

We are currently seeking applications for the part-time role (22.5 hours per week) of Victim Counselling Support Service (VCSS) Coordinator. (This position can be based at our locations across SEQ such as Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Toowoomba etc and it not limited to Spring Hill and Eight Mile Plains.)

The Victims Counselling and Support Service is provided to Queensland residents who have been affected by crime including victims, family members and friends of victims and witnesses of crime. VCSS provides a range of services to assist people affected by crime to resume their lives.

The purpose of this position is to support the coordination and development of the Victim Counselling Support Service in compliance with organisational policies and procedures. This role will attend to complex case management and provide interim case management and counselling for complex clients.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide first level assistance to clients, internal and external stakeholders in resolving problem calls for VCSS related matters
  • Provide expert advice and assistance to internal stakeholders around VCSS specific issues and trauma informed practice
  • Monitor waitlists for the program and ensure that clients receive service within specified time frames
  • Conduct case management reviews in conjunction with clinical supervisor ensuring compliance with case management model of service
  • Assist with process development and implementation for the program in line with recent substantial service agreement changes

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have an appropriate undergraduate tertiary qualification in social or behavioural sciences with possession of or progression towards attaining a postgraduate qualification highly desirable. You will have demonstrated experience providing crisis, trauma and victims counselling in a variety of settings (e.g. individuals, couples, children, young people, families and groups) with knowledge of theoretical frameworks for providing crisis, trauma and victims counselling and case management. In addition, you will have experience in process development and implementation specific to counselling programs and have the ability to identify opportunities for change and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

The salary being offered is $71,421 to $82,213 per annum pro rata, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation and generous salary packaging options where eligible which will significantly increase the value of take-home pay. Other attractive benefits are available including additional annual leave over the Christmas period, annual leave loading and study leave.
