What you’ll do

As our Senior Couple and Family Counsellor, you will provide high-quality therapy to couples, families, and individuals to support them in addressing issues impacting their lives and relationships.

You'll work to strengthen family relationships, reduce conflict, enhance communication, and address critical issues such as Domestic & Family Violence (DFV), mental health, and child protection to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children. You will also support the Team Leader, providing clinical supervision and support for the team as required.

You'll:

  • Utilise the family systems framework and other counselling models to provide comprehensive support to your clients
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and cross-program support as required
  • Deliver services in-person, online, or over the phone, depending on client need
  • Maintain clinical case notes, client, and administrative records in accordance with organisational guidelines
  • Maintain a high level of interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, with colleagues and clients

Details:

  • Permanent part time position
  • 3 days per week based at the Sydney City Centre
  • Approx $52 - $53 per hour (depending on skills & experience) + 11.5% super, 17.5% leave loading and tax-free salary packaging up to $15,900. (Increase your take home pay! Calculate Your Savings at https://www.salary.com.au/calculate-your-savings)
  • Extra annual leave days between Christmas and New Year
  • Excellent professional development & regular clinical supervision

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of experience working directly with couples and families in a systemic model of therapy
  • Experience in delivering supervision/mentoring in a team working with couples and families
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology or equivalent
  • Post-grad qualifications or training in Counselling or Couple and Family Therapy
  • A calm, professional and compassionate approach when engaging with clients
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with PACFA or ACA
