We exist to help young people. We do one thing, and we do it really well – youth mentoring.
Our best-practice program is proven to make positive and sustained change. Mentoring empowers young people to be resilient, connected and hopeful for the future. We match trained and trusted volunteers with teenagers who would benefit most from an independent, caring adult who is there to listen and show up just for them.
Our early intervention youth mentoring program is currently in over 180 high schools across Australia and available online. This translates to over 2,000 young people matched with a qualified mentor each year
Join our village of passionate people who care deeply about young people and making a meaningful impact through mentoring. Enjoy a flexible, positive and collaborative work environment where you can make a meaningful difference.
This is a casual position for 15 hours a week, leading three programs in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, VIC.
Our Program Counsellors (PCs) are responsible for the successful coordination, implementation, delivery, and completion of Raise mentoring programs at one or more allocated high schools, ensuring mentors and mentees have a positive experience and the program achieves successful outcomes.
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be responsible for group facilitation, providing professional support to mentors and mentees, supervision of mentors and mentees, key stakeholder communication and management, and quality reporting.
Other responsibilities of the role can be found in the Position Description.
We are looking for someone who:
At Raise, we have six values that express our shared understanding of what we believe, how we would like others to see our personality, what we aspire to as an organisation, and how we aim to behave:
At Raise Foundation, we’re committed to creating safe, inclusive and empowering spaces — for young people, mentors, employees and our wider community.
We welcome and value people of all ages, genders, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, people with disability (both seen and unseen), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from all social classes, and those diverse in gender identity and sexual orientation. We recognise and respect all differences in people and believe that lived experience from marginalised communities brings essential perspectives and diversity of thought. This is not only critical to building a fair and equitable workplace but also strengthens our ability to fulfil our purpose — to improve the social and emotional wellbeing of young people — by connecting them with trusted and trained mentors across Australia.
Raise is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that encourages flexible work arrangements and is committed to creating an environment where all employees feel respected, supported and able to thrive.
