About the Role

Working closely with the Education Projects Lead and Accreditation Committee Chair, the Senior Accreditation and Training Advisor (Full-time 1.0 FTE, fixed term to 30 June 2025) contributes strategically and operationally to successfully deliver RACMA education projects.

The role provides specialist training program standards, accreditation, compliance, monitoring and evaluation expertise to education projects. The role will be responsible for managing the renewal of the Training Post Accreditation standards and development of associated policies and processes.

The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end project elements from concept, discussion paper development, presentations, consultation, approvals, communications and operationalisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Training Post Accreditation Renewal Project.
  • Develop a RACMA Fellowship Training Post Accreditation Framework aligned to regulatory requirements.
  • Develop criteria, linked to the outcomes of the Fellowship Training Program, for accreditation of training posts.
  • Develop guidelines and a training package for accreditation assessors.
  • Develop and document processes to assess, accredit and monitor training posts, including the effectiveness of training supervision.
  • Explore and consider possibilities, risks and implications of different concepts and proposals.
  • Develop papers and proposals informed by regulatory requirements and standards, better practice, literature searches, desktop reviews and stakeholder feedback.
  • Confidently present concepts and proposals to committees and stakeholders.
  • Participate in, or lead when required, discussions to explore and evaluate concepts and proposals.
  • Develop documentation including communications, discussion papers, education materials and resources, evaluations, policies, processes, proposals, recommendations and reports.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of information related to assigned project elements.
  • Effectively engage and consult with stakeholders including subject matter experts, Candidates, Fellows, committees, RACMA staff, external stakeholders and service providers.
  • Other duties as required.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated understanding of quality and compliance, and application of standards and accreditation governance, ideally in an education or healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, research issues, formulate recommendations, implement decisions and review outcomes.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare documents that convey complex educational and operational concepts in clear and concise manner appropriate to the audience and purpose.
  • Excellent oral presentation skills with the ability to explain complex ideas confidently, competently and clearly to different audiences for different purposes.
  • High level analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • High level organisational skills including the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, manage tasks concurrently, establish priorities and work to competing deadlines.
  • Strong initiative, adaptable and open to change with the ability to work effectively independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to achieve successful outcomes working on a complex project where there are aspects of ambiguity.
  • Understanding of the Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Health System and training and education pathways for Doctors in Training would be highly regarded.
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification (Masters or Doctorate level highly regarded) with extensive relevant experience.
