ABOUT THE ROLE

The Communications Support role will work to support the Ryan Communications Director to deliver voter and supporter-facing communications across the Ryan Nested Campaign, ensuring Libby’s re-election at the next federal election.

This role will report to the Ryan Campaign Manager while working alongside other staff in the Nested Campaign.

The position is offered under the Australian Greens Multi Enterprise Staff Collective Agreement 2021, and includes:

  • A salary of $63,604.48 per annum pro-rata ($32.19 per hour) working 2 days per week as negotiated;
  • Superannuation of 11.5% in addition to salary;
  • Contracted role until 26 Oct 2024;
  • A probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension by a maximum of three months; and
  • All employees are expected to sign confidentiality and code of conduct agreements before the commencement of their employment.

GOALS OF THE ROLE

  • Support the Communications Director to deliver communications that win votes and activate supporters.

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Experience with coordinating the logistics of delivering political communications to voters and supporters.
  • Competency with delivering precise and persuasive communications.
  • High level of competency with digital housekeeping skills including Google Docs.
  • High level of attention to detail with spelling & grammar, formatting and design.
  • Competency with internal software packages used internally by the Party, including NationBuilder and civiCRM.
  • A commitment to Green politics and processes including consensus decision making.
  • Commitment to the Greens charter and policies including an understanding of internal structures and processes.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support with the development and rollout of the communications calendar managed by the Communications Director.
  • Coordinate the logistics of voter facing communications, including via social media, digital and print materials.
  • Liaising with print materials suppliers and Australia Post.
  • Coordinate the logistics of supporter facing communications, including via social media and email communications for volunteer activation and fundraising.
  • Supported drafting of voter and supporter facing communications.
  • All other duties as directed.
