Queensland Community Alliance brings together 34 member organisations representing 1.7 million Queenslanders. We organise our members and communities to act for the common good. We are churches, mosques, other faith groups, trade unions, community organisations and ethnic associations.
Community organising is democracy in action: winning victories that change lives, transform communities, develop leadership and strengthen civil society.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Lead Organiser is the head staff person of the Alliance, working with civil society leaders from across Queensland.
We are looking for a new Lead Organiser to provide leadership which furthers the vision of Queensland Community Alliance and ensures its effective operations.

Some of our key policy wins working together are:
- $2 billion Queensland Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Jobs Fund.
- World leading social prescribing network in Mount Gravatt to address social isolation and loneliness. Now being expanded in 13 locations around Queensland.
- Historic increase in funding for local Neighbourhood Community Centres - $125.6 million package over 4 years.
- Launched a workplace rights education program for vulnerable migrant workers, with community champions in Brisbane, Cairns and Toowoomba.
- Secured $4M for Communify to establish Bindi Bindi Place, delivering shared care for highly vulnerable children, in collaboration with child protection and community partners.
- Reducing missed ante-natal care in Logan by 67% through establishment of 5 Community Maternity Hubs.
- As part of the Renew Australia for All coalition, helped secure $7.3 billion for the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, reducing cost-of-living through affordable small-scale batteries.
We have an ambitious agenda to:
- Create a Queensland and Australia where power is shared fairly, our homes and communities are powered with clean, affordable energy and there are thousands of well-paid, secure jobs.
- Build community The Queensland Way where no one falls through the cracks, where wellbeing is a community responsibility, and where health care includes human connection.
- Develop strong local Alliance chapters across regional Queensland which are both locally led and part of a powerful statewide Alliance.
- Build the social infrastructure of the next century that responds to social isolation, migration and community connection.
- Train a generation of thousands of community leaders with the capacity to engage powerfully in Queensland's public life.
- Give local people a say in the decisions that affect their lives.
