About Queenslanders with Disability Network Ltd (QDN)

QDN is a member based representative body of over 2,000 members with disability and supporters. Our vision is that people with disability are active and valued citizens of Queensland. Our mission is to empower people with disability to be fully included as citizens in the social and economic life of the community.

QDN undertakes systemic advocacy and policy work, and delivers funded projects. We also run an industry consulting practice (QDeNgage) which connects businesses, organisations, and departments to people with lived experience of disability to provide feedback, advice and information, and to share their knowledge and expertise, through a broad range of services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Executive Support Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the CEO and QDN Managers in the successful delivery of project outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide executive support to the CEO and Project Managers, including email and calendar management, contacts, preparing meeting papers and filing
  • Liaise and negotiate with members, Board Directors, Government and community representatives
  • Support the drafting of critical funding submissions, external reports and correspondence
  • Organise QDN’s Board and Committee meetings

SELECTION CRITERIA

The successful candidate must have:

  1. At least 3 years experience in a similar role in a member-based organisation
  2. Relevant experience in the human services sector, ideally disability services
  3. Effective communication skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate around sensitive and complex situations
  4. Ability to problem-solve and initiate resolutions where appropriate
  5. Effective time management skills when dealing with competing priorities in limited timeframes
  6. High level of computer literacy and skills across Microsoft office suite

QUALIFICATIONS AND SALARY

Qualifications or relevant experience in the areas of project administration and executive support are required.

The position is for a 12 month fixed term to 30 Sep 2021 and is based in Brisbane.

QDN operates under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 and the position is paid as a Social and Community Services Employee, Level 4 for a 38 hour work week (total remuneration range $70,408–$75,712 p.a. plus 9.5% superannuation). Salary packag­ing is available.
