The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our Eating Disorders Stream at Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS).

This is an exciting opportunity to combine direct clinical work with leadership responsibilities, supporting young people aged 12–25 experiencing eating disorders and complex mental health challenges. Working alongside the Eating Disorders Stream Leader and multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist assessment, treatment, clinical supervision and leadership within a growing service committed to excellence in youth mental health care.

About the Role

As a Senior Mental Health Clinician, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive mental health and risk assessments, formulation and treatment planning for young people experiencing eating disorders and associated mental health difficulties
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions and psychological care to young people and their families
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to a multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to intake, care allocation, clinical governance and quality improvement activities
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support recovery-oriented, family-inclusive care
  • Participate in service development, training initiatives and specialist portfolio responsibilities

About You

You are an experienced mental health clinician who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people and their families.

You will have:

  • Registration and qualifications as a Grade 4 Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Grade 3 Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker
  • Demonstrated experience working in youth mental health and/or eating disorders
  • Experience providing clinical leadership, supervision and support to other clinicians
  • Strong assessment, formulation and intervention skills
  • A commitment to evidence-based, recovery-oriented and family-inclusive practice

This position is available as family leave cover until April 2027. As a growing service, PYMHWS continues to expand and develop new programs, and while ongoing employment cannot be guaranteed, future opportunities may arise across the service.
