National Head of University Engagement

Project Everest Ventures

ABOUT US:

Project Everest Ventures (PEV) develops sustainable, socially beneficial products and services to solve some of the most pressing problems facing communities across the globe. We develop solutions collectively with local communities, governments and relevant stakeholders to ensure our projects provide maximum impact, aiming to improve the lives of the 4 billion people around the world living on less than US$5 per day.

Enterprise for purpose is one of the fastest-growing and most innovative spaces in the Australian economy and we are in the box seat to take advantage of this over the coming years. Our niche within the economy is growing at 20% per annum and our organisation has grown well beyond that rate as we attract community members who thrive in our environment.

Our partners are universities, and within Australian public institutions, their revenue is beyond $27 billion per year. Malcolm Turnbull dedicated $3bn of funding over 10 years directly into the ecosystem within which we operate.

We are combining training in start-up methodologies, leadership, and grassroots social development to build a world-class incubator that’s changing lives in countries across the globe.

WHAT WE ARE NOT:

  • Grey, corporate environment with a cubicle and a desk phone - in fact, we’re not corporate at all;
  • Clock-watching individuals where tumbleweeds roll through at 5 mins past 5pm;
  • A 100-year-old company where you live off the coat-tails of industry inertia;
  • A company that requires completion of 50 forms to take a day off;
  • An organisation that has it all figured out!

WHAT WE ARE:

  • A team of young hustlers who believe development can be done ethically, effectively and sustainably using business;
  • A team that savours the rough environments we operate, in Aus and beyond, and is proud to call our home anywhere that our fellow community members bunk down;
  • An environment where the CEO and our investors take our value of ‘Eat Last’ literally when it comes to distributing food and sleeping on the dirt next to our most junior members;
  • Proud to stand tall on the back of our achievements and humble enough to appreciate that the person we are speaking to may know a lot more than we do;
  • A B Corp Certified organisation;
  • A Social Traders Certified organisation;
  • One of GradConnection’s Top 100 Graduate Employers for 2020;
  • One of the Australian Financial Review’s Fast Starters’ list for 2020.

This is the place which you may have thought doesn’t exist: a place where people actually love coming to work, and we have the facts to back it up. For our training, which you will get to experience, community members come from all over Australia to work, unpaid, literally all day and night with virtually no sleep, all to support the personal and professional development of others! It is one of the highlights of our company and yet it is only one of many things we do which defies anything you have ever known about operating within a for-profit company.

We are passionate about what we do, and we employ only the finest and strongest to join us. Until now we have predominantly hired the best and brightest coming out of our partner universities, but we are seeking more experience and diversity within the team.

We are growing fast, and you can carve out an empire for yourself in our organisation as we stretch our reach further across the globe.

Before we continue, this job requires a superstar, a top-producer, and a bloody hard worker who has a track record of proven success. If you are new to development and don’t have the required experience, please do not apply for this position.
