About Primary Ethics
Primary Ethics is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers ethics education in NSW schools. Our classes — delivered by thousands of trained volunteers — give kids a chance to explore big questions, practise reasoning together and develop a strong ethical decision-making foundation.
We’re a small, passionate team with a big mission and we’re looking for someone who wants their work to matter.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Marketing Assistant to join our Communications & Marketing team. Reporting to the Communications Manager, this is a hands-on, high-variety role at the heart of our communications function.
You’ll be a person who makes things happen — creating on-brand social content, building and sending emails, keeping our digital channels fresh and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. If you love the craft of digital communications and get satisfaction from a beautifully executed campaign, plus you like to connect with people, this role is for you.
This would suit a new graduate or someone in early career.
What You’ll Do
- Design on-brand digital assets – particularly video and graphics – using tools like Capcut and Canva.
- Create and schedule social media content that reflects our voice and connects with our audience.
- Maintain the communications calendar and coordinate inputs from across the organisation.
- Contribute to reporting on digital performance and help us keep getting better.
- Build, test and send EDMs to our supporter community, ensuring they’re accurate, well-segmented and engaging.
- Keep our website and digital channels up to date, proactively spotting gaps and opportunities to improve.
- Help maintain our supporter lists in Salesforce and Mailchimp.
What We’re Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Digital Marketing, Media or a related field.
- Experience creating and delivering digital communications across email, social and web platforms.
- Comfortable working with CMS platforms (like WordPress) and email marketing tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a genuine eye for tone of voice and detail.
- Strong project management and organisation skills — you juggle multiple tasks without dropping the ball.
- Superior knowledge and understanding of social media; confident in an online environment.
- Capable of quickly learning new processes and systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills; self-motivated and able to prioritise well.
- Proactive and solutions-focused — you notice what needs doing and do it.
- Collaborative, adaptable and happy working in a small team where everyone pitches in.
- An understanding of and support for our mission to provide ethics classes for children in NSW public schools.
Why Primary Ethics?
- Work that’s genuinely connected to a mission you can feel good about.
- A supportive, friendly team who value what you bring.
- Hybrid working — a mix of office and remote.
- The chance to grow your skills across the full digital marketing mix.
