SARU - Self Advocacy Resource Unit

About positive powerful parents and self advocacy resource unit

Positive Powerful Parents (PPP) is a self advocacy group run by and for parents with Intellectual Disability. The group is led by a committee of management made up of parents with Intellectual Disability. PPP believe that parents with Intellectual Disability have their own unique way of parenting and with the right supports in place, most parents should be able to keep their children at home with them. PPP believe parents with Intellectual Disability have the right to access support. PPP also believe that when parents with Intellectual Disability become involved with child protection, they need to have plans in place to get the chance to be kept together.
