We are a purpose-driven business on a mission to improve stormwater management, reduce urban heat, and strengthen climate resilience — one project at a time.We are seeking a highly driven Business Development Lead, based in South East Queensland, to accelerate Porous Lane’s growth across Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

This is a remote role offering significant autonomy and responsibility, suited to someone who thrives on ownership, momentum, and delivering measurable growth. Candidates based in South East Queensland metro areas (Brisbane / Gold Coast will be considered).

What You’ll Do

  • Own and grow a robust pipeline of new business opportunities across QLD and Northern NSW, with a strong focus on local councils and government stakeholders
  • Build, manage, and deepen relationships with key decision-makers across planning, engineering, and sustainability functions
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and convert opportunities from early engagement through to contract award
  • Represent Porous Lane at industry events, briefings, and presentations to promote our solutions and value proposition
  • Collaborate closely with the national team to develop tailored proposals, pricing, and delivery strategies
  • Provide structured feedback to inform marketing, product development, and go-to-market strategy
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, structuring your time and activity to maximise impact and consistently exceed growth targets
  • Act as a trusted ambassador for Porous Lane’s mission, values, and standards in all client-facing interactions

What We’re Looking For

  • A highly self-motivated, results-oriented business development professional who excels in a remote, autonomous role
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, account management, or technical sales (3+ years preferred)
  • Proven ability to structure your time effectively, manage a full sales cycle, and deliver against ambitious revenue and growth targets
  • Experience selling into local government, infrastructure, construction, or specifiers is very highly regarded
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational discipline and CRM capability (e.g. Pipedrive, HubSpot, or similar)
  • A genuine alignment with Porous Lane’s values around climate action, equity, and practical sustainability

What We Offer

  • $80,000 – $90,000 base salary + super + performance-based commission
  • On-target earnings of approximately $130,000, with upside for exceeding growth targets
  • Purpose-led work with a business delivering tangible environmental outcomes
  • The opportunity to take ownership of and shape Porous Lane’s expansion across QLD and Northern NSW
  • Flexibility to work remotely, with access to coworking space in SE QLD if required
