About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Web Developer/Designer with experience in responsive web design.The Web Developer is primarily responsible for designing, developing and maintaining high quality webpages, websites, interfaces and high-quality technical deliverables on a wide range of projects under the guidance of the CIO. The focus is to create great user experiences across the multiple websites and online systems. 

A full time role based in our city office in Sydney's Haymarket - a convenient location close to Central, shops and right across from Belmore Park. The salary is $60-65k per annum plus super and additional benefits.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Support the  development and  delivery of Planet Ark's environmental campaigns. 

• Support the operation and maintenance of Planet Ark’s IT systems environment  

• Apply your knowledge and passion for development with knowledge of digital media and trends across a variety of technology channels. 

• Design, develop and maintain high quality web pages, websites and associated digital media. 

• Work with CIO and campaign managers to determine IT needs for current and future campaigns. 

• Provide statistical reporting for web services/traffic as required; download, filter and integrate web data with internal databases.  

• Participate in relevant meetings including IT and Campaign work in progress meetings (WIPs), staff meetings, supervision and external meetings. 

• Ensure personal adherence to the Planet Ark HR Manual.  

• Other duties as reasonably directed by the CIO.  

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA:

1. Passionate about design and user experience
2. Strong HTML, CSS and Javascript knowledge and experience
3. Proficient jQuery and Bootstrap skills
4. Good knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator or similar
5. ColdFusion (or PHP) – some experience in both server side (ColdFusion / PHP /) and client side (JavaScript) coding needed
6. Database experience - SQL, table creation & modification
7. A great attitude and a willingness to support your team
8. High attention to detail and a focus on quality
9. Common sense, initiative, ability to problem solve and work autonomously
10. Willing to listen and a genuine enthusiasm to learn
11. Some tech/desktop support experience
12. Know how to use Macs and Mac applications.
13. A strong alignment with Planet Ark's mission and values.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

1. Tech/desktop support experience
2. AWS experience
3. Good knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator or similar
4. Data mining, analytics and presentation tools for example Tableau
