At Peter Mac we aim to continuously improve cancer care, research and education across all cancers and for all people affected by cancer: changing lives, breaking new ground. Everything we do is underpinned by our core values, Excellence, Compassion and Innovation. Welcoming people from a wide variety of different backgrounds and experiences is critical to fostering innovation, cultivating compassion, attracting and retaining top talent and providing the best possible cancer care for our patients.
The Western & Central Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (WCMICS), hosted by Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, is seeking a committed and collaborative Program Lead to drive a culturally safe cancer care initiative in partnership with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
The program – Walking together with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples to enhance culturally safe cancer care – aims to strengthen access to screening, treatment, and supportive care by embedding Aboriginal leadership and voice, across several health service partners.
The Program Lead will oversee the delivery of Walking Together with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples to Enhance Culturally Safe Cancer Care, a transformative initiative focused on improving cancer outcomes through culturally safe, accessible, and coordinated care. Working closely with Aboriginal-led organisations, health services, community representatives, and key stakeholders, you will drive program governance, partnership development, service coordination, evaluation, and sustainability planning, ensuring Aboriginal leadership and voices are embedded throughout the program. This is a unique opportunity to lead meaningful system-wide change and contribute to improved health outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples across the WCMICS region.
