We are seeking a passionate and experienced Team Leader to join our team at Nas Recovery Centre (NRC).

About Us:

Established in 2023, NAS Recovery Centre (NRC) is a non-profit Drug, Alcohol, and mental health treatment and support service dedicated to addressing the unique challenges within the African Australian community. At NRC, we provide a range of evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive interventions to help individuals thrive and regain control of their lives.

About the role:

In this role, you will oversee the delivery of multiple culturally aligned mental health and AOD projects and manage a dedicated team to ensure program outcomes are achieved. This role will also play a key role in establishing and maintaining relationships with key government and community stakeholders and advocate for organisational needs as required.\

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising a small team of staff, including volunteers and students, and providing guidance to achieve project outcomes.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end planning, execution, and evaluation of projects related to drug and alcohol services and youth engagement.
  • Manage operational responsibilities under the guidance of the CEO, ensuring program delivery and project deliverables align with grant agreement and time, resource, and budget constraints.
  • Prepare and present clear and concise progress reports to the CEO and key project stakeholders, including non-executive board.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings to advocate for client and organisational needs.

About You:

  • Demonstrated team leadership experience (3+ years), preferably in the health or community services sector.
  • Strong awareness of the root causes of mental health and AOD issues in culturally marginalised communities.
  • A can-do attitude and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to liaise with a range of government and non-government stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to monitor, track and report on program and service user progress.

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a discipline such as AOD, Mental Health, Nursing, Social Work or Psychology

Key Selection criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a team in coordinating project activities, including planning and implementation.
  • Well-developed understanding of the sensitivity issues affecting individuals, youth, and families with dual diagnoses and their barriers to accessing essential care.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, communicate, and build strong internal and external relationships to ensure optimal project implementation.
  • Experience in preparing regular reports on project progress, milestones, and key performance indicators, identifying risks and areas for improvement, and working with the team to develop strategies for mitigation.
