PACFA, the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia, is seeking volunteers with governance expertise to join a new Governance Committee being established by the Board. Applications are sought for the following positions:

  • Committee Chair
  • Up to four Committee members

PACFA is the leading peak body for the counselling and psychotherapy profession in Australia and a professional association for practitioners, educators, students and related professionals. For information about PACA see www.pacfa.org.au.

PACFA is a registered health promotion charity, incorporated in the ACT, with its head office in Melbourne. PACFA has been on a strong growth trajectory since a successful re-structure in 2016 which included the merger with 10 other associations. The organisation has a volunteer Board made up of counsellors and psychotherapists, and there are currently 5 sub-committees of the Board.

Applicants will have relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. law, accounting, human resources, management) and substantial knowledge and experience of organisational governance, preferably in a non-profit organisational context. Completion of the AICD Company Director’s course and membership of the AICD would be highly regarded.

PACFA is located in Melbourne but applications from anywhere in Australia will be considered and meetings may take place via Zoom.
