This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering intensive family preservation and reunification services that support children to remain safely with their families wherever possible.

OzChild is seeking a passionate, highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our Restoring Families Program.

As a Team Leader, you will provide practice leadership, people leadership and operational oversight, ensuring high-quality, evidence-informed services that keep children safe and support families to thrive.

About the Role

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will:

  • Lead, coach and support a team of skilled practitioners delivering family preservation and reunification services.
  • Provide reflective supervision, practice guidance and performance support.
  • Ensure service delivery aligns with OzChild's National Practice Framework, Safe & Together, MARAM and strengths-based approaches.
  • Support high-quality assessments, interventions, safety planning and case management practices.
  • Monitor service outcomes, documentation, compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with Child Protection, DFFH, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and community partners.
  • Foster a positive, accountable and psychologically safe team culture.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen outcomes for children and families.

This role requires flexibility, with service delivery occurring between 8:00am and 8:00pm to meet the needs of children and families.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience working with vulnerable children, young people and families.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervision, coaching and staff development.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment, safety planning and collaborative case practice.
  • Experience implementing evidence-informed and child-focused practice frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to cultural safety, reflective practice and continuous improvement.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, family therapy or a related field.
