Community Engagement & Partnerships Lead

OzChild
  • Help grow the number of foster carers across Melbourne
  • Full-time or Part-time (24-40 hours per week) | Hybrid | Dandenong, Yarraville, South Melbourne & WFH

Do you love meeting people, building relationships and getting involved in the local community?

We’re looking for an energetic, outgoing and self-motivated Community Engagement & Partnerships Lead in the Marketing & Engagement team.

This is a newly created role with a minimum of three years’ funding, giving you the opportunity to shape how OzChild builds community partnerships and recruits foster carers across Melbourne’s western and south-eastern suburbs.

No two days will look the same. One day you might be presenting at a local school, the next networking with sporting clubs, attending a community festival or meeting with local businesses to build new partnerships.

If you’re happiest out in the community rather than sitting behind a desk, we’d love to hear from you.

Position overview

You’ll become the face of foster care recruitment across priority communities.

You’ll build trusted relationships with community organisations, businesses, schools, sporting clubs, cultural groups and local leaders to help raise awareness of foster care and encourage more people to take the first step.

You’ll have the autonomy to identify new opportunities and see the direct impact of your work through foster care enquiries and partnerships.

Your role

  • Build and grow partnerships with schools, sporting clubs, businesses, cultural organisations and community groups.
  • Develop local engagement plans for Dandenong and Melbourne’s west.
  • Attend community events, expos, markets and information sessions.
  • Identify new opportunities to connect with people interested in foster care.
  • Work closely with OzChild’s foster care recruitment team to convert enquiries.
  • Develop quarterly local engagement plans and report on results.
  • Manage community relationships and activity through our CRM.

What a successful candidate looks like

  • A confident communicator who enjoys starting conversations with new people.
  • Naturally outgoing and comfortable presenting to community groups.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Organised and confident managing multiple projects at once.
  • Comfortable working flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Passionate about making a positive difference in your local community.
  • Experience in community engagement, partnerships, stakeholder engagement, business development, marketing or a similar role.
  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, community development, public relations or equivalent experience.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • A current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Residency within metropolitan Melbourne.

Experience working with culturally diverse communities will be highly regarded.

Why join OzChild?
