About the job

The Clinical Consultant works within a dynamic team of clinicians and academics who contribute their skills and knowledge to the service innovation, workforce development and research translation initiatives of Orygen.

Reporting to the Director, Workforce Development you will:

  • Design, develop and deliver evidence-based training, education and online learning for a range of youth mental health audiences.
  • Lead projects that strengthen the youth mental health workforce through training, resources and collaboration with young people, families and key stakeholders.
  • Provide expert clinical consultation, advice and individual/group supervision to support evidence-based youth mental health practice.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver high-quality projects, with opportunities for regional, national and international travel.

Skills and experience

The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

  • Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline. (Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy and Mental Health Nursing) and full registration with AHPRA or AASW (or eligibility for).
  • Extensive experience as a senior clinician, clinical coordinator or educator in youth mental health, with advanced assessment, formulation and intervention skills.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering engaging training, workshops and education programs for clinical and non-clinical audiences, both in person and online.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based early intervention in youth mental health, with the ability to translate research into practical resources, advice and workforce development initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, manage competing priorities and work collaboratively.
