The Ipswich Head to Health (HTH) Centre, funded by Darling Downs and West Morton PHN, offers inclusive, low-stigma access points for mental health services, providing assessment, triage, warm referrals, and immediate support. It caters to individuals at various levels of need, including those in crisis, fostering an innovative, agile, and flexible approach to service delivery.

The opportunity

Applications are open for full-time Mental Health Clinicians at the newly established Head to Health service in Ipswich. Join a fresh, professional team, with the opportunity to deliver competent mental health interventions as part of a multidisciplinary approach.

As a Mental Health Clinician, you'll collaborate with the Senior Clinician and Clinical Lead, providing individualised, evidence-based interventions for short to medium-term support. You'll contribute to team meetings, build relationships with external stakeholders, and work within the community to deliver holistic recovery orientated care.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Conduct clinical assessments and develop case formulations and treatment plans for clients with moderate to severe mental health difficulties
  • Deliver individualised, evidence-based interventions with clients
  • Perform risk assessments and develop practical risk management plans
  • Provide client-centred care, incorporating family-inclusive practices within a multidisciplinary team
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and ethical standards

About you

Are you a professional, innovative, and caring clinician who thrives as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and enjoys working with a wide range of external stakeholders involved in providing health, mental health, and psychosocial services?

We’re also looking for:

  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or other clinical disciplines related to mental health.
  • Registration with the appropriate professional body such as AHPRA or AASW.
  • Expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and providing evidence-based treatments for mental health disorders.
  • Extensive experience fostering mental health and well-being, delivering inclusive therapeutic services with a recovery and strengths-based focus.
  • Competency or the ability to develop competency in conducting risk assessments, crisis intervention planning, and implementing effective risk management strategies for consumers.
  • Knowledge of the mental health system, government policies, legislation, and professional standards.
  • A commitment to foster and build inclusive cultures that promote human rights and diversity.

  • Current Driver Licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to hold one.
  • Undergo a current and satisfactory Police Check. 
  • We require all our team to be fully up-to-date with the COVID-19 vaccinations.
