  • Hourly rate (when working in Gunbalanya): $46.93 per hour + $3.55 per hour remote allowance

One Tree is seeking an experienced and culturally responsive Wellbeing Worker to join our team based in Darwin. This rewarding role provides an opportunity to work alongside the Gunbalanya community, delivering targeted wellbeing programs, early intervention initiatives, training, and support services that strengthen personal wellbeing, resilience, and community safety.

Working from our Darwin office and travelling to Gunbalanya on a regular fortnightly basis, you will collaborate closely with local staff, community members, service providers, and stakeholders to develop and deliver culturally appropriate wellbeing programs that empower individuals and support positive outcomes.

Role purpose

  • Based in the Darwin office, traveling regularly (fortnightly) out to Gunbalanya, develop and provide targeted, block wellbeing training and support to community members.
  • To provide culturally appropriate strategies, advocacy, training and intervention services for clients of the Gunbalanya Safe House, local staff and all community members to support their self-regulation skills, interpersonal skills and overall wellbeing
  • To promote safety, wellbeing and empowerment while respecting cultural values and traditions.
  • Work closely with the Gunbalanya team to provide support and training
  • To work within the Risk Assessment and Management Framework (RAMF) and support others to do the same
  • To deliver on all reporting requirements of the position

Selection criteria

  • High level written and oral communication skills – high level report writing, training development and delivery
  • High level interpersonal skills - ability to deliver feedback in a way that supports, motivates and inspires

  • Demonstrated ability to manage time affectively and schedule and plan to meet job requirements successfully
  • High level of cultural awareness
  • Ability to travel regularly to Gubalanya (every second week)

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Be eligible to work in Australia and live in Darwin
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Relevant degree or diploma in social work, community services or related
