About the Opportunity

The Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drugs Reform Manager will provide expert strategic leadership and direction for Mental Health (MH) and Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) strategies and reform activities with alignment to national and NT policy directions, reforms, current evidence and best practice.

This senior role will lead a mental health, alcohol and other drugs team to drive strategic and collaborative action to achieve the shared vision of improving the social, emotional and cultural wellbeing of all those living in the NT, whilst ensuring those experiencing mental illness are supported by an integrated service system that is collaborative, recovery focussed, culturally safe and focused on providing support the meets the needs of individuals and communities.

About You

This role will suit a professional that has an extensive high-level knowledge and understanding in Mental Health, Alcohol and other Drugs or a related field or expertise in NT Health systems. If you have the following skills and experience, we’d love to chat:

  • Knowledge or training equivalent to a relevant postgraduate qualification and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education /training and extensive leadership experience.
  • Management of a small and specialised unit where significant innovation, initiative and/or judgement are required
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Australian National Mental Health and AOD reforms and contemporary evidence-based service models and approaches with an understanding of the Northern Territory context.
  • Excellent engagement skills with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external clients, partners, and stakeholders. guiding strategic relationships and partnerships with a common purpose towards agreed results.
