The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association (NSWNMA) in association with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation New South Wales Branch (ANMF NSW Branch) seeks a Digital Organising Officer to join our Organising Private Hospital and Aged Care team on a 12 month temporary full-time basis.
In this role, you will grow our power by identifying and organising identified member and stakeholder online-generated leads into meaningful action focused networks.

Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Commitment to the union movement.
- Demonstrated experience in a field or digital organising role.
- Very active user and consumer of social media with demonstrated skills utilising online tools (e.g. social media and peer-to-peer texting) to identify leads.
- Technologically savvy with ability to learn new databases, online platforms, etc. relatively quickly.
- Successful script development for lead generation, mobilisation and development on different platforms, including online platforms and outbound calling.
- A strategic and critical thinker with ability to identify and plan opportunities for shifting engaged online participants to offline campaign activities.
- Experience developing leadership potential in an online environment.
- Demonstrated innovator, open learner and team player with ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment, working with diverse groups of people across functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, take a concept and run with it, while keeping team members in the loop on progress and feedback or support needed.
- Strong organisational skills with demonstrated ability to problem solve.
- Demonstrated capacity to be an open learner and work within a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to the nursing and midwifery professions.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle competing demands.
- Demonstrated passion for progressive politics and social justice.
- Full and current NSW driver’s licence.
Desirable
- Nursing or midwifery experience or alternatively a strong understanding of the nursing and midwifery professions and health and aged care industries.
- Experience of working for a union or social justice organising.
- Experience in community organising or active participation in local groups/networks.
- Ability to speak, read and write in a second language.
