Overall purpose of program:

The Brand and Community Engagement team aims to raise the profile of Stroke Foundation to increase support for our activities across the Australian community. A major component of this program is to drive the development and implementation of fully integrated strategic communication and marketing plans to promote all our programs and fundraising activities.

Overall purpose of position:

The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting the development and optimisation of Stroke Foundation’s digital marketing activities, connecting to the donors, volunteers, and the wider community, to grow fundraising income and awareness of the brand and health promotion programs.

The role is also responsible for supporting the Digital Services team and broader Marketing & Fundraising team to deliver digital marketing strategies from concept to execution. By driving and retaining traffic to Stroke Foundation’s digital platforms, the Digital Marketing Manager plays a vital role in helping to prevent, treat and beat stroke in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with a variety of different internal departments to support Stroke Foundation’s overarching digital goals, in particular ensure collaboration between the Marketing & Fundraising and Digital Services teams to develop digital marketing plans and strategies
  • Oversee digital marketing and advertising activities to ensure brand presence is maximised
  • Manage external digital advertising/media agencies and suppliers - including procurement, budget management and performance review; as per organisation policies and procedures
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to provide thought leadership and strategic advice on digital marketing best practice and engagement to contribute to the development of a culture of innovation and continuous optimisation through test and learn
  • Using a data driven mindset, translate data, analytics, research and industry trends to ensure digital activity can be measured and reported to support evaluation requirements
  • Lead digital marketing projects (strategy, budget setting, coms & project management) in conjunction with Digital Services team
  • Working with internal stakeholders, manage email marketing strategies, including segmentation, customer preference, re-engagement, eDM database growth and conversion, customer journeys, etc to ensure a centralised email platform management across the organisation
  • Continually improve digital journeys and tactics to optimise lead acquisition, donor conversion and retention
  • Implement supporting digital activities for fundraising campaigns, including appeals, community fundraising and corporate partnerships to grow income from digital channels
  • Provide scheduled and ad hoc reporting to internal stakeholders on digital marketing campaigns; including post campaign analysis and recommendations
  • Drive awareness and consideration of Stroke Foundation’s fundraising activities and campaigns through optimised digital experiences and content on the website
  • Manage the Digital Marketing & Advertising team resources (staff and financial)

Position Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work-related experience in digital marketing and/or related discipline.
  • A Project Management qualification is desirable, but not essential

Skills

  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage and support numerous stakeholders to successfully deliver business outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills, as well as being able to monitor budgets and report on digital activity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
  • High level negotiation and networking skills with an ability to think creatively and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Flexible, professional, engaging, and outgoing to connect with stakeholders and supporters across corporate and not for profit sector networks

Knowledge

  • Strong digital marketing and channel knowledge including best practice across SEO, SEM, email, website, social media and content Marketing, data/analytics
  • Demonstrated understanding of digitally driven fundraising and marketing campaigns
  • Hands on experience of Google Analytics, email marketing platforms, and CMS management
  • An understanding of design-based and user journey / pathway thinking
  • Experience of optimisation through test and learn methodology
  • Data driven with an analytical mindset
  • Solid understanding of not-for-profit organisations would be advantageous

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in digital marketing (or related discipline)
  • At least 2 years’ experience responsible for staff and budgets at management level.
  • A background in Fundraising would be desirable, but not essential

Necessary Checks

This position is subject to credential checks, which include a Police Check and evidence of required clinical or other qualifications (specific to be noted).

Evidence of full COVID-19 Vaccination is required to be considered for this role.
