We are a not-for-profit community legal centre that aims to provide innovative and dynamic services to enable justice for clients and the community. Our team is made up of solicitors, tenancy advocates, social workers, financial counsellors, financial advocates, older people’s rights advocates, community legal education staff, program support staff and volunteers.

Our Older People’s Rights Service (OPRS) offers legal advice, advocacy, peer education sessions and social support to those at risk of or experiencing elder abuse, with a focus on positive ageing.

About our Senior Solicitor/Program Manager (OPRS) role…

The purpose of this role is to offer legal advice and assistance to those experiencing elder abuse or who are at risk of such abuse, as well as day to day management of the multidisciplinary OPRS team.

What an average day might look like…

• Offering legal advice and assistance to those experiencing elder abuse or who are at risk of such abuse.
• Leading, managing and supporting the OPRS team, including debriefing and trauma informed practice.
• Working collaboratively with partners and the community to demonstrate effective collective responses to matters affecting older people’s rights.
• Represent the NSCLC in internal and external meetings, activities and events.
