Governance and Business Officer

NRM South

about the role

The Governance and Business Officer supports the effective operation of NRM South by ensuring the organisation operates smoothly through strong governance and compliance coordination, systems discipline, and operational administration.

The role strengthens organisational integrity by coordinating governance processes, maintaining organisational systems and records, and ensuring policies, registers, compliance obligations and administrative functions remain current, accessible, and effective. Acting as a central coordination point across governance, compliance and business operations, the role helps ensure commitments, actions and obligations are proactively managed and delivered.

In this position, you will play a central coordination role across governance, systems and business administration. Your work will ensure that Board and committee processes run effectively, governance obligations are tracked and met, and organisational records and systems are accurate, current and audit-ready.

You’ll also provide practical day-to-day support across office operations and internal coordination, helping staff and leadership stay organised, connected and focused on delivering outcomes for Tasmania’s natural environment.

This is a role for someone who takes pride in detail, follow-through and reliability, and who understands that strong systems and good governance are what enable great environmental work to happen.

Experience in governance support, administration, records management or compliance coordination will be highly regarded.
