About You

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support to deliver projects and consultancies.
  • Support, under supervision, to data collection, including qualitative interviews.
  • Support, with guidance, on data analysis, including transcription and coding of qualitative data and non-complex statistical analysis of quantitative data
  • Support literature reviews of academic and grey literature, including working independently on scoping reviews.
  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of project related trainings and capacity development activities
  • Assisting development of project proposals and business development.
  • Contributing to Team meetings and across Institute workshops and collaborations.

The successful candidate will share our vision for a more inclusive world and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An understanding of, and commitment to, disability inclusive development or rehabilitation and allied health.
  • Exposure to, and experience of, applied research, program implementation, or monitoring and evaluation.
  • An advanced degree in disability studies, development studies, health, law, or related field.
  • Excellent written English and communication skills.

The following would be advantageous:

  • Specific sector expertise as a practitioner or researcher in the work areas outlined above or in another sector.
  • Experience of working and living in wider Asia and Pacific region.
  • Monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning experience.

About the Role

The position will support the delivery of technical advisories and applied research with government, non-government, United Nations agencies, and organisations of persons with disabilities. The work of the Team spans rehabilitation and allied health, early childhood identification and development, social protection and disability support services, disability data and measurement, climate and disaster risk, and humanitarian response.

We work across the life-course with people with disability of all genders and identities. Our work is informed by the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and contributes to realising 2030 Agenda and related commitments to disability inclusion, equity, and leaving no one behind.
