The Environment & Climate Change Group manages complex environmental, sustainability and engineering programs and projects to achieve quality outcomes for the residents and environment of the Northern Beaches.

The Environment, Resilience and Climate Change Team delivers strategic and operational management of corporate sustainability programs across the Northern Beaches. The team drives climate change adaptation and mitigation measures, provides significant business system support, and facilitates improvement initiatives across the Environment and Climate Change Group.

Our opportunity:

The key focus areas of this role include: 

• Develop and embed strategies, plans and policies and drive change within the organisation relevant to climate change and environmental sustainability.  
• Deliver, facilitate, and support the implementation of programs and projects to reduce Council’s carbon emissions and water use.  
• Provide technical support and advice to other departments and staff related to environmental sustainability and climate change to build internal skills, capabilities and knowledge to ensure best practice for Council operations and projects.
