The Australian arm focuses on campaigns to improve Indigenous rights, protect and defend the rights of refugees and supports global campaigns.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for your own portfolio of individual donors who have already supported the work of Amnesty International as well as engaging new prospective donors. You will nurture relationships with donors implementing cultivation, stewardship and solicitation strategies to inspire them to give generously.

You will identify prospects, conduct research, develop fundraising materials and products and approach prospects using ethical business development and fundraising strategies. With the team you will plan, develop and implement annual, as well as long-term strategies, including determining budget and income targets, to support the Australian and global movement. You will also benefit from working with your international colleagues on global best practice and skill sharing.

Skills Required

You have a record of accomplishment inspiring donors, philanthropists or high-net-worth customers, and are able to demonstrate success in identifying, developing and securing high value donations or sales. You will have an excellent understanding of the donor solicitation process.

Your skills and experience will also include;

  • Significant understanding of relationship based fundraising, development, sponsorship or sales
  • Passionate about the values of empowerment, persistence, integrity and courage
  • Displaying an entrepreneurial approach to major donor strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate those around you
  • Build and update compelling cases for support
