Newtown Neighbourhood Centre (NNC), is a highly regarded community organisation located in the heart of the Inner West. We are seeking to recruit a Social Support Group Coordinator to join our Aged Services team and facilitate a range of engaging and fun social activities for local seniors.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Commitment to the values of NNC
• Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or minimum 3 years experience working with older people
• Demonstrated experience in the planning and implementation of group programs for older people.
• Demonstrated experience in carrying out risk assessments and implementing risk mitigation strategies.     
• Demonstrated capacity to manage, support and coordinate a small team of staff and volunteers.
• High level written and verbal communications skill.
• Demonstrated understanding of Cultural Safety issues and diversity.
• Commitment to ensuring high levels of health and safety for staff, volunteers and clients.
• A current driver’s licence and safe driving record.

About the Opportunity

• 14 hours per week across 2 x days (Wednesdays and Fridays)  
• Above award conditions and pay (SCHADs Award, Level 4 - hourly rate based on 35 hour working week, plus salary packaging, additional leave and flextime arrangements available)
