ABOUT NECCHI
Newlands and East Coburg Neighbourhood House (NECCHI) is a community run, member-based, not for profit organisation and registered charity operating out of two unique neighbourhood houses on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people.
We are committed to delivering bold initiatives to advance social justice and sustainability. NECCHi houses and gardens aim to be inclusive and respectful spaces where awesome things happen to promote care for one another and the environment, build strong connections and deepen our understanding of what it means to live, work and play on Wurundjeri Country.
The Role
The Administration Assistant will support the day-to-day-to-day operations of NECCHi’s Neighbourhood Houses by completing a range of administrative tasks and ensuring the smooth running of the office/reception areas. This role works closely with the NECCHi team and is a critical role that helps NECCHi create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone who visits NECCHi.
It is a multi-faceted role that requires flexibility, excellent communication skills and a passion for working with people. The role might be perfect for you if you enjoy:
- Welcoming visitors and responding to in person, phone and email enquiries.
- Orienting community members to our facilities and processing room bookings.
- Purchasing supplies.
- Preparing and proof-reading documents.
- Ensuring spaces are safe, clean, well-presented and set-up for programs.
- Providing administrative support to the NECCHi team as directed.
- Working in a fun, vibrant environment
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Someone who can uphold the values of the organisation and demonstrate these in practice to support the achievement of NECCHi’s goals.
- Excellent digital literacy skills (must be proficient in Microsoft 365 and have an aptitude for using a range of software packages/applications).
- Experience using Dropbox/CANVA/Wix (Desirable).
- Commitment to maintaining privacy and confidentiality and to working sensitively and respectfully in a community setting.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a team to achieve NECCHi goals and meet deadlines.
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise across all levels, both internally and externally, and with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Well-developed written communication skills with the ability to produce reports.
- Existing connections with Coburg and/or surrounding community groups/organisations will be advantageous.

salary and benefits
- Permanent part-time position (19.5hrs/wk)
- Work days: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (days are negotiable)
- Salary range is $63,647 - $69,437 pro rata per annum, based on skills and experience + superannuation.
- Annual leave loading of 17.5%
- 4 weeks annual leave per annum with the option of purchasing up to an additional 4 weeks leave per annum (i.e. 48/52 arrangement)

CONDITIONS
All offers of employment are subject to a six-month probation period. All offers of employment are subject to the following:
- Current National Police Record Check
- Current Working with Children Check Assessment notice and card for valid Employment
- Two reference checks
- Eligibility to work in Australia
