Provide tailored support to vulnerable consumers living with complex needs.
The Albany Mental Health Step up Step Down service is a six bed, maximum 28 day stay residential facility, that provides a Step Up/Step Down option for people who are becoming unwell or are still recovering from an acute mental health challenge and need a short period of additional support and consolidation to complement their treatment and support.
During their stay consumers are assisted to develop strategies and a wellness plan including relapse prevention. The team at AMHSS consists of a manager, two senior team leaders (TL) Mental Health & Wellbeing Workers (MHWW),Peer Workers (PW) Family and Friends Peer Worker plus an Operations Support Officer.
The facility is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and operates on a rotating roster consisting of day, afternoon/evening and overnight shifts
