• Part-Time (0.6FTE), Permanent Position
• Classification: Registered Nurse Level 2 $104,826 - $110,122 per annum + Superannuation pro rata
• Classification: Health Professional Level 2 $99,432 - $111,229 per annum + Superannuation pro rata
• Salary packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year
• Location: Main site: Joondalup, WA 6027. Burswood and Rockingham if required.

About your new role

The Mental Health Clinician (MHC) provides high quality, person-centred care as part of a transdisciplinary team, supporting consumer wellbeing, safety and positive health outcomes across community and/or clinical settings.

Practising autonomously within their professional scope, the MHC delivers high quality mental health care including intake, assessment, triage, referral, care coordination and evidence based psychological therapies relevant to the program. The role integrates therapeutic engagement and health education, while promoting trauma-informed, and culturally safe practice.

The MHC contributes to service quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives, and may provide clinical guidance and oversight where relevant to the program.

What you will bring to the role

• Formal tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or related
• Current full registration as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse with current annual practicing certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA), OR
• Current full registration as a Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
• It is a responsibility of the incumbent to maintain all registration/membership requirements with the appropriate governing body and continuing professional development.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, demonstrate empathy and build trust.
• Strong emotional resilience including the ability to sit with discomfort, distress and people in crisis.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing demands and exercise sound judgement.
• Experience in working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team with the ability to inspire and facilitate team commitment and cooperation.
• Ability to adapt communication style to meet the needs of a diverse range of people and identify changing needs within a group.
• Knowledge of trauma informed care.
• Strong computer literacy and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in mental health practice.
• National Criminal History Check (police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
• Current Working with Children Check - required before commencement of work
• Australian working rights
• A valid Australian Drivers License

Desirable

• Clinical experience in an acute, sub-acute or other setting in which crisis care is a core component of service delivery.
• Formal mental health accreditation relevant to professional discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification in Mental health.
• Knowledge and experience with a range of evidence based suicidality specific models and interventions.
