About the Role: 

  • Location: Perth, Western Australia 
  • Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office)
  • Hours: Full-time, 38 hours, 5 days per week
  • Status: Permanent
  • Industrial Instrument: Non Award

Position Purpose: 

To lead the end-to-end delivery of the WA sector support program, including the strategy, design, and execution of Communities of Practice (CoPs), events, and sector engagement initiatives.

The role is accountable for ensuring high-quality, member-led delivery that is efficient, impactful, and aligned to NDS strategic priorities within a lean operating model.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational – Program & Event Delivery (Primary Accountability)

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of WA events and Communities of Practice
  • Manage all event logistics and execution, including:
    • Venue/platform coordination
    • Registrations and event systems
    • Supplier and catering management
    • Speaker liaison and event materials
  • Contribute to the annual program and activity tracking calendar
  • Deliver events and CoPs on time, on budget, and to a high standard
  • Support delivery of regional and virtual engagement activities
  • Maintain contact lists and attendance records across events and CoPs 

2. ​​​​​​​Program & Content Leadership

  • Support to set the direction and themes for CoPs and event program
  • Identify and engage speakers, facilitators, and partners
  • Ensure content is relevant, contemporary, and member-led
  • Lead design of flagship and high-impact events
  • Work closely with Program Delivery Lead to ensure:
    • Accurate reporting
    • Insight generation
    • Continuous improvement

3. Strategic

  • Identify emerging sector trends, challenges, and opportunities
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the State Manager and other Project Leads
  • Align WA delivery with national priorities and Member First approach
  • Prioritise program activities to align with sector trends

4. Other WA Responsibilities

  • Support with the back filling of other programs and services within NDS.

5. Other Responsibilities (standard for all NDS employees)

  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Develop accessible versions of documents.
  • Comply with NDS policies and procedures (HR, WHS, IT, Security, Privacy).
  • Demonstrate NDS values: Build respectful relationships, Lead change, Deliver clarity and impact, Support and develop others, Embrace diversity.

Skills & Experience:

  1. Demonstrated experience within disability service delivery
  2. Demonstrated experience in end-to-end program/project and event delivery
  3. Strong operational and organisational capability
  4. Experience managing logistics, suppliers, and competing priorities
  5. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing within the disability sector
  6. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  7. Excellent communication and presentation skills
  8. Ability to work effectively in a lean team environment
  9. Proficiency with MS Office and event systems
  10. Willingness and capacity to travel independently
