Located in the heart of Redfern, NCIE delivers a diverse range of community programs, health and fitness services, aquatics programs, events, venue hire and community initiatives that strengthen wellbeing, inspire achievement and create pathways for individuals, families and communities to thrive. We are seeking a creative, strategic and results-oriented Marketing Manager to drive awareness, participation and growth across NCIE's programs, facilities and services.

About the Role

Reporting to the CEO, the Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing NCIE's marketing, communications and growth strategy to strengthen brand awareness, increase memberships and participation, maximise venue, conference and event utilisation, and support the organisation's long-term sustainability and impact. This position is part-time, 3 days a week.

The role provides leadership and direction to the Marketing Coordinator and is accountable for ensuring marketing activities align with organisational priorities, customer needs and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Brand

  • Develop and implement NCIE's marketing and communications strategy.
  • Strengthen and promote the NCIE brand across all channels and customer touchpoints.
  • Identify opportunities to increase awareness, engagement and participation.
  • Monitor market trends and customer insights to inform marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure marketing activities are aligned with NCIE's values, purpose and brand standards.

Membership & Participation Growth

  • Develop initiatives to increase memberships, participation and customer engagement.
  • Promote NCIE's fitness, aquatics, community and wellbeing programs.
  • Support customer acquisition, retention and loyalty initiatives.
  • Analyse participation trends and identify opportunities for growth.

Venue, Conference & Event Promotion

  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to increase venue hire, conference bookings and event participation.
  • Promote NCIE as a destination for conferences, meetings, corporate events, community gatherings and special events.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to develop attractive event and venue offerings.
  • Support event promotion and marketing activities to maximise attendance and engagement.

Community Engagement

  • Build awareness of NCIE's purpose, programs and services across the community.
  • Support the development of content and storytelling that highlights NCIE's impact and achievements.
  • Strengthen engagement with members, customers and community stakeholders.
  • Support initiatives that enhance NCIE's reputation and visibility.

Reporting & Performance

  • Monitor and report on marketing performance, participation growth and campaign effectiveness.
  • Analyse customer, membership and engagement data to inform decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, growth and continuous improvement.
  • Manage marketing budgets and external suppliers where required.

About You

You are a proactive and creative marketing professional who enjoys building engagement, promoting meaningful initiatives and contributing to positive community outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, brand management and customer engagement.
  • Strong digital marketing and campaign management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience promoting services, programs, memberships, events or customer-facing activities.
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to analyse data and use insights to improve performance.
  • A collaborative and solutions-focused approach.

Desirable

  • Experience in the not-for-profit, community, health, recreation, sport, aquatics or events sectors.
  • Experience promoting memberships, events, venue hire or customer-facing services.
  • Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and cultural capability principles.
