An exciting opportunity exists with Ngaanyatjarra Council Group as an Administrator to join our People and Culture team based in Perth CBD, This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person with a strong interest in remote communities to make a real difference to the lives of Aboriginal people.

About the role

The Administrator is responsible for various administrative tasks within the People and Culture (P&C) department which includes human resources, work health and safety and training. They play a crucial role in supporting P&C functions such as recruitment, onboarding, record-keeping, employee queries, benefits administration, travel booking, systems data entry, payroll processing, reporting and compliance.  

Administrators help ensure smooth operations within the P&C department and support the overall management of people and culture within a company.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Contribute to the overall service delivery and stake holder management by answering calls, emails and face-to-face queries from employees in relation to topics such as P&C operations, health and safety, travel, training, payroll and other Ad hoc queries. 
  • Maintain accurate reports to track employee movements, training and compliance, health and safety information, service awards and employee benefits. 
  • Maintain, update, and regularly audit the HRIS to ensure accurate records and employee data. 
  • Organising travel and accommodation. 
  • Assisting with recruitment activities, and employee lifecycle from onboarding and orientation/offboarding (booking medicals, raising PO’s, ensure requirements are met in terms of criminal and VEVO checks), surveys. 
  • Assisting with strategic people and culture projects as and when needed. 
  • Assisting in employee engagement activities, employee benefit programs and L&D initiatives. 
  • Updating P&C SharePoint, assisting with P&C presentations. 
  • Provide assistance or temporary coverage for the Receptionist and Executive Assistant, if required. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

About you

  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict management.
  • Effective organisation, time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Efficient and accurate typing ability with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Intermediate MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
  • Experience in working with HR, Safety and compliance systems (desirable).
  • Qualification in Business Administration or other relevant discipline (desirable).
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people (desirable).
